This is not tax advice
Slaagkans Expats is a calculator. It applies rules the Belastingdienst has published to the figures you type in, and shows you which rule produced each number. It is not advice, and it is not a decision about your situation: your employer applies for the expat scheme and the Belastingdienst decides whether it applies to you. Nothing here says you qualify.
Some 2027 figures are not published yet. Where that is the case the result says so instead of guessing, and the badge on that line tells you the rule behind it is not final. Check your own case against the Belastingdienst's own page on the expat scheme, and take a decision that matters to a tax adviser, not to a web page.
Your pay stays in your browser
The calculation runs inside your own browser. Your salary, your start date and everything else you type is never sent to us: no request carries it, no field has a name a browser could submit, and nothing is written to the address bar — so it is not in your history, not in a link you might share, and not in any server log of ours. Close the tab and it is gone.
There is no account on this site and nothing to sign in to. We ask for no email address, and we store none. We never ask for a BSN, a passport number or any other identity document.
If you allow it, at most two things are counted, and nothing else ever is. Which page was opened, by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and builds no profile of you. And that a calculation was run, by a counter of our own. It is a counter in the literal sense: one line per day, holding that date, the language the page was in, which of four outcomes the calculation was — the pay cleared the salary norm, missed it, the norm did not apply to you, or today's published rules could not settle it — and a number that goes up by one. Your calculation adds 1 to a tally that already holds everyone else's, which is why it cannot be picked back out of it. That is the entire measurement. It never carries a salary, a band of salaries, an allowance, a date you typed or any other figure, and it holds nothing that could identify you or tie one visit to another. If you decline, nothing is measured at all, and the calculator works exactly the same.
Our hosting provider keeps the standard request logs any web server keeps — the page asked for, the time, the network address it came from — because serving a page and defending it from abuse is not possible without them.
Your rights, and where to complain
Under the GDPR you may ask us what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, and object to its use. On this site the honest answer to the first question is almost always “none”, because nothing you type here reaches us. Write to contact@slaagkans.nl and we will answer.
The operator is established in Poland, so the lead supervisory authority is the Polish data protection authority, UODO (Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych). If you live in the Netherlands you may instead complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Either route is open to you.
